Caution and advise to patients and doctors · Use the correct size of Ismail Clamp - Measure glans diameter using the measurement device provided. A big clamp will result in difficulty to insert inner tube. A small clamp will cause pain and discomfort and result in swelling of penis after removal of clamp. · Researchers concluded that anybody (including infants and those under general anaesthesia) undergoing circumcision should be given local analgesia to overcome pain and discomfort during and 1st 2 hours post circumcision. · During first 24 hours post circumcision, observe for possible complication such as haematoma, bleeding and anuria. · Always keep a conventional circumcision set ready. In case of complication remove clamp by unscrewing big outer screw nut and proceed to conventional circumcision. · Advise patient to bathe regularly, wash clamp and penis with running water. · Each time after bathing and urination, rinse clamp and penis with antiseptic - 0.05 % chlorhexidine gluconate (hibitane). · To prevent complication, advise patient to avoid excessive and/or vigorous physical activity until the wound has totally healed. · Normal activity should be encouraged and patient should be ambulatory. |
